This is a very large painting done en plein air by the Ottawa River, on a summer day. The style is Van Gogh like, in the treatment of the sky and by the way the trees are stylized. They stand at a slant overlooking the mighty river. If the trees were human, they would have undoubtedly been a troupe of dancers.
