The dead turkey hangs alone, defying any of the classical characteristics of composition and form. There are no shadows, no horizon, and no bold perspective. Instead, we are dazzled by the rainbow of colourful lines. The colours are exotic, as is the form, as though the bird was rendered to remind us of a peacock, in full attire. The large bird, a thing of life and beauty having perished, yet rendered immortal in this beautiful work.
