The small vase can hardly hold the many branches of freshly cut violets that overflow the canvas. The base is painted orange, as well as the walls, specifically to complement the violet tones of the flowers. Rhyn had mastered the art of drawing. Every little leaf, and every petal is meticulously sketched to perfection. The dark  vertical and diagonal lines are also there for a reason. They give cohesion, which makes this exceptional work solid and unforgettable!
