We find here, a style that characterized the artist in his middle years. It is carefree and loose. Rhyn departed from the traditional mode of painting, that he knew, so well and, turned to a Van Gogh like style. The composition depicts a dramatic, almost dancing, barn set, as a backdrop to the three dairy cows whose stance is quite docile. The artist brings you into the scene feeling more of a participant than an onlooker.
