Mountains jetting out of the blue ocean, the scene is mesmerizing. The artist, much like a photographer, is there to snap a picture of the scene and to immortalize it. There is a difference however; if done alla prima, the painter has an advantage. True artists, in their mind and soul, end up convinced they own everything they create. When you study and paint a scene in detail, it’s yours to own and to forever keep.
