This small painting was done alla prima in Greece, just outside of Athens. Much like doing a portraiture. In executing a landscape, one must capture the inherent feeling of the place. By capturing the weather at a moment in time, one captures the ambiance. The sky, the waves and the treatment of the water say it all. It’s windy, it’s noon and it’s a summer day, by the sea.
