Pinelli was a superb neoclassicist whose works are filled with scenes of Ancient battles  In this work Achilles shield is pierced with arrows the hero however stands tall . Pinelli's style has survived the test of time . He is an important artist, whose works adorn museums around the world, including the metropolitan museum of fine arts.
