This is a heavy impasto work in green, full of emotion. Green is a colour that most artists avoid, because of the difficulty in its rendition. Rhyn, however, masterfully shows us the extent of his love of nature. He livens up the scene by rendering, in this large work comprised mainly of leaves, an overwhelming detail. The detail of each leaf, done in impasto style, gives it life. It makes  the onlooker feel as though the tree has taken on an extra dimension and energy, as it is made to move with passion, in front of our own eyes.
