This is a painting about dreams. Some are simply from sleep and others are aspirations. Some are attainable and, as long as they exist, they are real. In this painting, the word "dream" is written in numerous languages and in various colours. It is not just the young dreamer who is dreaming, but the viewer, as well. She is trying to see her future in the dream, while the viewer is trying to hold onto the present. Each person has dreams and each language writes of dreams in many poems and stories. Here, I have woven a visual poem with the word "dream" in many dialects. The woman imagines an ideal world in which there is no conflict because she is pure and innocent. But some of the words form sad poems on their own. Even though she is timid she is aware of truth to be learned and this gives her strength. The patterned sheet that the woman is resting on has transformed into a metaphysical and metamorphic space.
