Description:

As a plain air painter, Rhyn loved the outdoors. He, in particular, adored painting trees and water. This scene was painted in early July just outside of Ottawa. The tree in front is ready to give up its stance and fall into the water. Rhyn was a genius in laying green on green. Using a limited palette of yellow, blue and red, he was able to combine these colours in such a way as to mimic the natural nuances of green, often so difficult to master.
