Trained in Edinburgh, Scotland at the turn of the century, Scott uses a romantic realism style to give the onlooker a feeling of peace and tranquillity. Scott  trained his students to paint out of doors, a la prima, using what he claimed was “the good light”. Even the sky is a glow in this well executed, but rare landscape scene.
